People’s Commissariat of the Food Industry of the USSR established at the suggestion of I. V. Stalin by Resolution of the Central Executive Committee and the Council of People’s Commissars of the USSR dated July 29, 1934 No. 1813 “On the division of the People’s Commissariat of Supply of the USSR into two independent people’s commissariats: the People’s Commissariat of Internal Trade of the USSR and the People’s Commissariat of the Food Industry of the USSR”. Resolution of the Council of People’s Commissars of the USSR No. 2125 “On the structure of the central office of the People’s Commissariat of the Food Industry (Narkompischeprom)” was approved on September 11, 1934.In 1936, the entire state wine industry of the USSR was included in the People’s Commissariat.
In 1938, the All-Union office “Soyuzpishchepromreklama” was created under the People’s Commissariat of the Food Industry, which carried out advertising activities for the food industry.By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 19, 1939, it was divided into three people’s commissariats: the People’s Commissariat of the Fishing Industry of the USSR, the People’s Commissariat of the Meat and Dairy Industry of the USSR, and the People’s Commissariat of the Food Industry of the USSR.In 1946, the People’s Commissariat was transformed into the Ministry of Food Industry of the USSR.
