During his stay at the front, Senior Lieutenant Spodynyuk showed himself to be a proactive and brave soldier of the Red Army. On August 1, 1942, Comrade Spodynyuk was seriously wounded while repelling enemy attacks in the Novocherkassk area. From November 23 to 26, 1944, Spodynyuk showed himself to be a brave and proactive commander in the management of mortar fire in the area of ​​the village of Embutt. During the attack, Spodynyuk destroyed one heavy machine gun, suppressed the fire of two heavy machine guns and 4 light machine guns within 15 minutes, thereby ensuring the advance of rifle units. When changing the firing position, his ammunition was running out. Then Senior Lieutenant Spodynyuk found a mortar battery abandoned by the Germans, and with the help of his crews, he transferred the enemy mortars to his firing positions. Together with the mortars, 860 mines were transferred. Continuing to fight, Stodynyuk destroyed more than 80 Germans from enemy mortars. Although wounded, he remained in the ranks until the final completion of the mission. The courageous and resourceful officer, Senior Lieutenant Spodynyuk, who shed blood for the freedom and independence of our Motherland, deserves to be awarded the Order of Alexander Nevsky.
