This Order was established by Emperor Meiji. It is conferred in recognition of notable services. Originally it was awarded to Japanese and foreign women, and occasionally men. Now, it is conferred only upon members of the Imperial Family and foreign ladies of distinction.

A Japanese Order of the Sacred Crown, VI Class. A silver gilt oval medallion with clusters of three enamelled cherry blossoms forming the four points of a star, center obverse presenting a silver gilt ancient Japanese Imperial Crown on an enamelled background, reverse plain, with a blue enamelled wave crest suspension, measures at 41mm (w) x 64mm (h), with a period bow ribbon and minor wear to the reverse, accompanied by a bow ribbon and a rosette, in near mint condition.
