Established in 1937. The badge was awarded to the best workers (workers and employees) of the plant who had worked for at least ten years).
State Plant No. 24 named after Frunze manufactured engines first for light aircraft, and then for military aircraft. The piston water-cooled engines designed by Alexander Mikulin (they are designated by the index AM) were considered among the best in the world in the 1930s. In an airplane equipped with such an engine, Valery Chkalov, second pilot Baidukov and navigator Belyakov made the first non-stop flight from the USSR to the USA in 1937: Moscow – North Pole – Vancouver. The length of their flight was over 9 thousand kilometers! The crew spent 63 and a half hours in the air.
