In the battles on the Karelian Isthmus, Comrade Mikhailov proved himself to be a brave gunner, a master of direct fire. In the battle to break through the Finnish defenses in the Beloostrov area on June 10, 1944, while under enemy fire, he destroyed a Finnish light machine gun with direct fire, destroyed one dugout in which there were up to 15 Finns and, together with other guns, made a passage in the barbed wire. The decisive actions of gunner Mikhailov ensured the successful breakthrough of the Finnish defense by our infantry
Award for the Order of Glory, 2nd degree:
Distinguished himself in the battles on July 7 and 8 in the area of the village of Vikkola. Firing direct fire at enemy firing points hindering the advance of the infantry, Sergeant Mikhailov destroyed a heavy machine gun along with its crew with four shells. Noticing the advance of a new enemy crew of five men with a heavy machine gun to the firing position, gunner Mikhailov forced the Finnish soldiers to lie down with the first shell and killed four of them with the next two shells. The next morning, he suppressed the fire of two more enemy firing points, providing the rifle units with the fire support they needed.
